Overall Summary
In Week 28 (July 6–12), the first week of summer school vacation, activity in both networks was down among children under 15 and stable among adults compared to the previous week.
Amid a heat wave that affected the entire country over the past week, there was an increase in heat-related indicators in both networks: hyperthermia/heat stroke, dehydration, and insect bites.
In both networks, cases were also on the rise for gastrointestinal conditions: vomiting among children and adults, and gastroenteritis (OSCOUR) and diarrhea (SOS Médecins) among children only. Emergency department visits for these conditions were at higher levels than in previous years.
Nationally, following a sharp rise in mortality during Week 26 of 2026, the number of deaths from all causes reported by INSEE in Week 27 (June 29–July 5) was declining and appears to be returning to the usual range of fluctuation for the expected number across all age groups, but remains elevated among those aged 15–64 (unconsolidated data).
