Sleeping pills and tranquilizers: it’s time to talk about them!

Do the French suffer from insomnia? One might think so, given that their consumption of psychotropic drugs is two to four times higher than that of their European neighbors... In light of this finding, the Franche-Comté Regional Health Agency (Urcam) and the health insurance funds have decided to conduct a unique experiment in the region. The initial results include improved doctor-patient communication and a willingness to change one’s medication-use habits.
