Sleep Planet... Teens Get Involved in Health Education!

The Isère Departmental Association for Health and Social Education (ADESSI) carried out an initiative to empower a group of adolescents struggling academically to take charge of their sleep and daily routines. The initiative was carried out with adolescents aged 13 to 19 in the SES and DIJEN classes at a vocational high school in northern Isère, in partnership with the Vienne Primary Health Insurance Fund. The program combines an awareness-raising phase on the theme of Sleep-Health-Adolescents, using games as a tool, with a phase of creating communication materials, which were presented to the public during an event. The article describes the course of the initiative, the "Backpack" game, the "Planète Sommeil" event, and presents the students’ work (drawings, video clip). It also presents the results of a survey conducted by INSERM and the Association of Biology and Geology Teachers on the sleep habits of high school students in the Lyon School District.
