Heteronormativity: A Risk to Mental Health - Editorial

This special issue of the BEH provides, for the first time, an overview of the mental health of lesbian, bisexual, and gay (LBG) people in France through the lens of the experiences of stigma they face. The findings presented in this issue not only update our understanding of these populations but also allow us to examine in detail the complex links between stigma and mental health. The findings are clear. Despite significant progress since the early 1980s in recognizing the rights of sexual and gender minorities, stigmatizing and sometimes violent attitudes toward them persist.
