Key Points

Since January 1, 2019, 852 cases of measles have been reported (vs. 2,110 cases during the same period in 2018), including 261 (31%) hospitalizations (11 in intensive care), 64 cases (7.5%) complicated by pneumonia, 2 cases of encephalitis, including 1 death (subacute encephalitis in an immunocompromised patient).

The weekly number of cases appears to have begun declining as of week 15.

89% of cases occurred in unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated individuals (out of a total of 589 cases, aged over one year and born since 1980, for whom vaccination status was known).

76 departments reported at least 1 case during the period.
