Epidemiological Situation: End of the Outbreak

Following the usual winter surge in flu cases during the southern hemisphere winter, the decline in visits to private practices for flu-like symptoms and in emergency room visits over the past two weeks indicates the end of the seasonal flu epidemic in Réunion. At the same time, the number of isolated viruses is decreasing, but type A(H3N2) and B viruses continue to circulate at low levels on the island.
