Flu Situation in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of March 8, 2016.

Epidemiological Situation

In recent weeks, sentinel physicians in Mayotte have observed an increase in consultations for flu-like symptoms. Epidemiological surveillance since 2010 shows a typical resurgence of flu-like symptoms at this time of year. Other surveillance indicators confirm the circulation of influenza A and B viruses. One patient with a severe case of the flu has been hospitalized in the intensive care unit. In this context, it is important to remain vigilant and to remind vulnerable individuals (children, the elderly, and immunocompromised individuals) of basic preventive measures.
