Dengue Situation in Mayotte. Epidemiological Update as of July 2, 2014.

Analysis of the Epidemiological Situation

All monitored epidemiological indicators (weekly number of biologically confirmed dengue cases, positivity rate, and general practitioners’ activity related to visits for dengue-like syndrome) suggest a continued decline in viral circulation in week 26. Nevertheless, this circulation appears to be primarily active in Mamoudzou, and local transmission of the virus is still being observed in other parts of the island. Despite the observed decline in indicators, the highest level of vigilance must be maintained to limit the risk of a renewed increase in circulation.
