Cholera in Mayotte. Update as of May 8, 2024.

  • Between March 18, 2024, and May 8, 2024, 63 cases of cholera were reported in Mayotte (59 confirmed and 4 probable cases).

  • Of these, 49 were locally acquired and 14 were imported from the Comoros or countries on the African continent.

  • Seven severe cases requiring intensive care and one death were recorded.

  • The vast majority of cases (48) were detected in the municipality of Koungou.
