Cholera in Mayotte. Update as of May 2, 2024.

Key Points

  • Since March 18, 2024, 39 cases of cholera have been reported in Mayotte; 36 have been confirmed by PCR, and 3 probable cases have tested positive via Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT).

  • Of the 36 PCR-confirmed cases, 27 were locally acquired and 9 were imported from the Comoros or countries on the African continent.

  • Four cases required intensive care in the cholera unit.

  • No deaths have been recorded to date.
