Chikungunya and Dengue in Réunion. Bulletin dated February 18, 2025.

Key Points

  • Since August 23, 2024, 1,069 cases of chikungunya have been reported on the island, including 927 in 2025.

  • The outbreak continues at a steady pace, with 362 cases detected in S06. Cases are now being reported in 21 municipalities.

  • The increase remains very pronounced in Le Tampon (228 cases, a sharp rise), which continues to report the highest number of cases, but the number of cases is rising rapidly in other municipalities in the south and north.

  • Since the beginning of the year, the spread of dengue has remained limited.
