Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • SOS Médecins: The number of procedures for the diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age decreased compared to the previous week. In week 51-2023, 37 cases involving a diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age were recorded, representing 9.3% of the overall activity of SOS Médecins associations in this age group (47 cases in week 50-2023).

  • Oscour®: Consultations and hospitalizations for the diagnosis of bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age remained stable compared to previous weeks. In week 51-2023, 483 visits for this diagnosis in this age group were recorded, representing 22.9% of visits in this age group (519 visits and a 22.3% share of activity in week 50-2023).

Influenza

  • SOS Médecins: procedures for all ages for a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness were on the rise compared to the previous week. In week 51-2023, 420 procedures for this diagnosis were recorded, representing 8.5% of the overall activity of the SOS Médecins associations (392 procedures in week 51).

  • Oscour®: Consultations for all ages regarding a diagnosis of influenza/influenza-like illness were up compared to the previous week. In week 51, 197 visits for this diagnosis were recorded, representing 0.7% of all visits (172 visits in week 50).

COVID-19

  • SOS Médecins: Procedures for suspected or confirmed COVID-19 were down compared to the previous week (280 procedures, or 570 procedures per 10,000 consultations).

  • Oscour®: visits for suspected COVID-19 were also down compared to the previous week (434 emergency room visits, or 150 per 10,000 consultations). Of these visits, 40% resulted in hospitalization.

Gastroenteritis

  • SOS Médecins: Gastroenteritis activity was low in week 51. Procedures for all ages involving a diagnosis of gastroenteritis were down compared to the previous week.

  • Oscour®: Gastroenteritis activity was moderate in week 51. Consultations for all ages due to a diagnosis of gastroenteritis were generally stable regionally compared to the previous week but showed a slight increase in Western Occitanie.
