Lyme borreliosis (or Lyme disease) is a zoonosis that is widespread in Europe. It is transmitted through the bite of ticks infected with Borrelia and progresses through several successive stages. The early localized phase manifests as a migratory, ring-shaped erythema (EM) centered on the tick bite, appearing within days or a month after the bite, and resolving spontaneously. In the absence of appropriate antibiotic treatment at this stage, early disseminated and late manifestations (neurological, rheumatological, cutaneous, or cardiological) may occur. [...]
