Health Monitoring in Normandy. Bulletin of January 8, 2026.

Key Points

Flu

  • The flu outbreak is stabilizing. For the first time since the start of the outbreak, some indicators are declining (number of emergency room visits and consultations with SOS Médecins, virus isolation in hospital and private laboratories). However, hospitalizations following emergency room visits are still on the rise, as are the number of clusters of cases in long-term care facilities and flu-related deaths.

  • The flu vaccination campaign continues through January 31. It is always advisable to get vaccinated, especially for those at risk.

Bronchiolitis

  • The bronchiolitis epidemic is subsiding, but it remains active. All indicators are decreasing (visits to emergency departments and subsequent hospitalizations, consultations at SOS Médecins, and detection of RSV by hospital and private laboratories).
