Key Points
Heat wave monitoring: All departments in Île-de-France were under a yellow alert on Sunday, August 11.
Hospital emergency room activity: The number of emergency room visits remained stable. Note an increase in visits for gastroenteritis and alcohol poisoning. The number of hospitalizations remained stable at a moderate level.
Activity of SOS Médecins: The number of SOS Médecins calls decreased, in line with the summer vacation period. Note a moderate increase in the number of calls for trauma and gastroenteritis.
Activity of the Paris Fire Brigade (BSPP): The number of people treated decreased, except for cases of diarrhea/vomiting and alcohol poisoning.
Enhanced surveillance of dengue, chikungunya, and Zika (in mainland France from May 1 through November 30): in the Île-de-France region, 225 imported cases were identified and investigated: 216 dengue, 6 chikungunya, 2 Zika, and 1 co-infection (dengue + chik). A first atypical case of chikungunya that occurred in mid-July was classified as locally acquired in Île-de-France, as it meets the definition criteria. There is no link to the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Measles: Since the beginning of 2024, the Île-de-France region has been experiencing a measles outbreak. The number of reported cases over the past three weeks has been decreasing.
Whooping cough: There has been a significant increase in consultations with SOS Médecins and emergency room visits for whooping cough since the start of the second quarter of 2024 in Île-de-France.
COVID-19: Stabilization of indicators across all age groups for outpatient and emergency room visits, and an increase in emergency room visits among children under 15 in Île-de-France
