Health Monitoring in the Hauts-de-France Region. Update as of June 24, 2022.

Key Points

COVID-19

  • The epidemic has continued to spread over the past 4 weeks

  • Increased viral circulation across all age groups over 15, particularly among those aged 15–64

  • Incidence rates are rising and remain very high among those over 65

  • Only one in 10 people (12%) has received their second booster dose, which is essential for strengthening immunity among the most vulnerable

  • Currently, the epidemic has little impact on healthcare services in community settings and hospitals

  • Continued spread of the Omicron BA.5 sublineage, gradually replacing BA.2, which remains the dominant strain

Extreme heat, heatwave

  • The Hauts-de-France region was only slightly affected by last week’s heat wave

  • Météo France has issued a yellow alert for the region’s five departments

  • Visible but moderate health impact in terms of healthcare utilization (SOS Médecin and emergency departments) for heat-related conditions
