Fasciolosis outbreak in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region, spring 2002

This article describes the investigations conducted following an outbreak of fascioliasis (liver fluke infection) reported by the Tourcoing University Hospital. This is the first outbreak of fascioliasis linked to the consumption of cultivated watercress identified in France. An update to the regulations governing watercress farms should be considered.
