Surveillance of influenza-like illness by general practitioners in the sentinel network

The latest surveillance data covering the period from February 27 to March 4 show a sharp increase in the number of visits for influenza-like illness in primary care. In fact, during this period, the number of patients who consulted a general practitioner for influenza-like illness is estimated at 2,400, compared to 1,400 the previous week, representing a 70% increase. This estimated figure is twice the maximum expected value for the period.
