Key Points

COVID-19

  • In Week 42 of 2022, a decrease in SARS-CoV-2 circulation in the Grand Est region

  • Decrease in incidence across all age groups

  • Increase in the number of new hospitalizations across all departments and admissions to critical care compared to Week 41 of 2022

  • Slight decrease in the number of emergency room visits compared to the previous week

  • Decrease in the number of COVID-19 consultations for SOS Médecins associations in the region

Monkeypox

  • 101 confirmed cases of monkeypox were recorded in the Grand Est region as of 10/25/22. The situation remains similar to previous weeks within the region.

Bronchiolitis

  • OSCOUR®: In week 42 of 2022, the proportion of emergency department visits related to bronchiolitis among children under 2 years of age was 12%, or 213 visits; this figure is up compared to the previous week. The proportion of hospitalizations for bronchiolitis among all hospitalizations following an emergency department visit was 30% in week 42 of 2022.

  • SOS Médecins: In week 42 of 2022, the proportion of cases handled by SOS Médecins related to bronchiolitis in children under 2 years of age was 10%, a slight increase compared to week 40 of 2022.

Influenza and Influenza-Like Illnesses

  • OSCOUR®: The number of emergency department visits for influenza-like illness, all ages (Figure 3), increased slightly in week 42 of 2022 compared to the previous week (39* versus 28 in week 41 of 2022) and accounted for less than 1% of activity.

  • SOS Médecins: The number of consultations for flu-like illness, all ages, is up compared to the previous week (171 consultations in week 42–2022 versus 138 in week 41–2022), representing 3% of activity.
