Heat Wave and Health Alert System in the Centre-Val de Loire Region. Epidemiological Update as of June 24, 2017.
Key Points
The six departments of the Centre-Val de Loire region have been under a green alert since 6:00 a.m. on June 23, 2017.
Since the start of the heat wave: an increase in calls for heat-related medical issues in the SOS Médecins and OSCOUR® networks through June 22, 2017, followed by a possible decrease between June 22, 2017, and June 23, 2017.
For yesterday:
- 6 visits to the emergency room for heat-related illnesses across all age groups; these visits primarily involved people aged 75 or older (n=4); 3 cases resulted in hospitalization (all among those over 75);
- 4 SOS Médecins consultations for heat-related illnesses (under 15 years old (n=1), 15–44 years old (n=1), 75 years or older (n=1)).
Data on hospital emergency room visits from June 23, 2017, should be interpreted with caution: data from the Blois (41) and Dreux (28) hospitals were not reported
