HIV/AIDS

Participation in the LaboVIH survey and accurate reporting of new HIV diagnoses via e-DO by clinicians and laboratory technicians are essential for the production of reliable surveillance indicators. Coverage has continued to decline since 2018 and stands at 52% in 2021, while participation in LaboVIH is increasing (82% in 2021) in the region.

Screening

  • Increase in screening activity (serology tests) following the decline in 2020 linked to the health crisis

  • Decline in sales of HIV self-tests

  • Approximately 2,600 tests have been conducted in the region as part of the HIV-test program since the beginning of 2022; these tests were primarily performed among those aged 20–39 (51%) and 40–59 (32%)

HIV Prevalence

  • Persistence since 2016 of a high number of people aged 50 and older who have discovered their HIV-positive status

  • Increase in the proportion of people under 25 since 2020

  • The proportion of these two age groups is higher than in mainland France (excluding Île-de-France)

Screening for bacterial STIs

  • STI screening rates are increasing but remain lower than those observed in France

  • Three departments with a screening rate higher than the regional rate for all STIs (including HIV): Côte-d'Or, Doubs, and Territoire-de-Belfort

  • Increase in testing particularly observed among men under 25, but the majority of those tested are young women

CeGIDD activity data

  • Most commonly detected infections: HIV, gonorrhea, and Chlamydia trachomatis

  • Patients: primarily young men born in France
