Key points

Bronchiolitis

  • The region has been in the epidemic phase for 5 weeks.

  • The epidemic is still on the rise in week 48 (20% of emergency room activity, 12% of SOS Médecins calls).

Influenza

  • Indicators (all ages) continue to rise among SOS Médecins associations (5%) and emergency departments (0.6%), leading to a transition into the pre-epidemic phase.

  • Among the 214 episodes of acute respiratory infections (ARI) occurring in long-term care facilities (LTCFs) between weeks 20 and 48, none were attributed exclusively to influenza (vs. 13 in France).

Acute gastroenteritis

  • Activity (all ages) at SOS Médecins clinics has been declining for 4 weeks and remains low, close to that of the previous season.

  • Activity (all ages) in emergency departments is relatively low and is within the range observed during the previous season.

COVID-19

  • The rate of confirmed cases in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté is increasing: it rose from 39.4 in Week 47 to 49.1 per 100,000 inhabitants in Week 48. The percentage of activity for suspected COVID-19 cases at SOS Médecins associations continues to rise and is close to 6%. The rate of emergency department visits continues to rise (2.0% vs. 1.7% in Week 1). The proportion of hospitalizations following an emergency department visit is increasing (41.9% vs. 40.4% in Week 1) and primarily involves those aged 65 and older (90.0%).
