Influenza Surveillance in Guadeloupe and the Northern Islands. Update as of March 14, 2019.
Epidemiological Situation
In Guadeloupe, influenza activity remains high. Since the start of the epidemic, an estimated 7,200 cases have been reported in community practice. The predominant influenza virus identified in community settings and hospitals is type A. Fourteen severe cases have been reported, four of which have resulted in death. In Saint Martin, the influenza epidemic remains stable at moderate levels, while in Saint Barthélemy, the epidemic has begun to decline.
