Epidemiological Situation of Dengue Fever in Martinique. Update as of August 20, 2014.

Situation Analysis

All epidemiological surveillance indicators for dengue in Martinique over the past two months indicate that the current situation corresponds to Phase 1 of the PSAGE Dengue*: the inter-epidemic phase of sporadic transmission. The number of suspected dengue cases seen in private practice and the number of confirmed and probable cases have been below the threshold for more than two months. Other indicators also show a very clear decrease in viral circulation (visits to emergency rooms, SOS Médecins, hospitalizations). No biologically confirmed dengue cases have been hospitalized in the past two months, and no dengue-related deaths have been recorded during the same period. The municipalities of Saint-Pierre and Carbet are the most affected, with low incidence rates.
