Dengue Fever in the Caribbean. Update as of July 26, 2024.

Key points

Guadeloupe

  • The epidemic that began in July 2023, linked almost exclusively to the DENV2 serotype, is now over.

  • The epidemiological situation corresponds to Phase 1 of the PSAGE dengue protocol: sporadic cases and isolated outbreaks with no epidemiological link(s).

  • Although epidemiological and entomological surveillance indicators have returned to levels equivalent to those observed during the pre-epidemic period, vigilance must remain high, particularly due to the identification of the DENV3 serotype in recent weeks.

Martinique

  • In Phase 1 of the dengue PSAGE: sporadic cases and isolated outbreaks or outbreaks with no epidemiological link(s).

Saint-Barthélemy and Saint-Martin

  • In Phase 1 of the PSAGE dengue response plan: sporadic cases and isolated outbreaks or outbreaks with no epidemiological link(s).
