COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Martinique as of April 21, 2022

Key Points

Since the last peak in incidence observed in early March (Week 10), an improvement in virological and hospital indicators has been observed. For several weeks, the decline in the incidence rate has occurred in tandem with a decrease in testing activity. However, an increase in the positivity rate was observed in Week 15.

The effective reproduction number (R_e) calculated for samples collected between April 10 and 16, 2022, was significantly below 1 (0.75 [0.72–0.79]), continuing to indicate an improvement in the epidemiological situation.

In hospitals, the trend in all indicators confirmed the improvement in the epidemiological situation.
