COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of March 17, 2022

In Guadeloupe, the resurgence of viral circulation was confirmed in Week 10. Positivity and incidence rates increased against a backdrop of a slight rise in testing. The incidence rate was rising across all age groups. Furthermore, the effective R value calculated from data reported in SIDEP for samples collected between March 6 and 12
, 2022, was 1.50 [1.45–1.55], significantly greater than 1, which also confirms this trend. At the hospital level, the number of emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 decreased in Week 10. However, the number of new hospitalizations increased slightly compared to the previous week.

In Saint Martin, the epidemiological situation regarding Covid-19 was calm in Week 10. The incidence rate and positivity rate were generally stable amid increasing testing. In hospitals, no emergency room visits for suspected Covid-19 and no hospitalizations were recorded in Week 10.

In Saint-Barthélemy, the number of new positive cases remained relatively stable in Week 10 despite a decrease in testing. In hospitals, no emergency room visits for suspected COVID-19 and
no new admissions were recorded in Week 10.
