COVID-19: Epidemiological Update for Guadeloupe, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy as of December 23, 2021

In week 2021-50, an increase in SARS-CoV-2 viral circulation was observed in Guadeloupe. The incidence rate exceeded the alert threshold for the first time since early November 2021 (S45), against a backdrop of a sharp increase in testing. The positivity rate, meanwhile, remained low and stable. Additionally, the Omicron variant was confirmed by sequencing for the first time in the territory on Friday, December 17, 2021. In hospitals, the situation was stable.
