Mortality 

  • The number of deaths observed in S16 was 1,325, lower than the expected number of deaths (n = 1,416, or -6.5%), but remained within the expected range of variation for a region with a population of 12.4 million. People aged >65 accounted for 83.1% of the deaths.
  • This number was 1,195 in S17, also lower than the expected number of deaths (n = 1,398).

COVID-19

  • SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater: In S18, an overall downward trend in the level of SARS-CoV-2 circulation in wastewater continued. The intensity of viral circulation remained low.
  • Data on SOS Médecins calls and emergency department visits for suspected COVID-19 were not available for S18.
