People with disabilities gain greater independence and well-being through participation in sports [Interview].

Participation in sports among people with disabilities living in medical-social institutions and services (ESMS) remains too low even today. It is in this context that the French Paralympic Committee funds initiatives to introduce and promote sports participation among this population. Through this program, it supports some 60 institutions and approximately 600 individuals each year. The results are very positive: more than 90% of the projects continue beyond the first year. By 2024, the committee will train educators and volunteers from 3,000 new clubs to welcome this population, as part of the Inclusive Club program, launched in December 2022.
