Girls need to feel good mentally to play soccer [Interview]

At the Val d'Europe Football Club girls' soccer academy in Seine-et-Marne (Île-de-France), which recruits girls as young as 5, players of all ages are taught about the importance of good nutrition. The link between healthy eating and physical fitness is clearly explained and emphasized. Parents are actively involved and participate in this awareness-raising effort. Soccer isn’t everything; the girls place great importance on their well-being. This initiative has strengthened the group’s cohesion, and no dropouts were recorded at the start of the season in September 2020.
