Key Findings from Wave 34 (May 9–16, 2022)

  • 81% of French people report having a positive outlook on life in general [Relatively low level, down 4 points from pre-pandemic levels, downward trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 15% of French people show signs of depression [High level, +5 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 25% of French people show signs of anxiety [Very high level, +12 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 67% of French people report sleep problems over the past 8 days [Very high level, +18 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]

  • 11% of French people have had suicidal thoughts over the past year [High level, +7 points compared to pre-pandemic levels, stable trend compared to the previous wave]
