In Week 24, the circulation of SARS-CoV-2 continued to decline nationwide, but detection of the Delta variant increased.
Decrease in incidence rates, hospitalizations, and admissions to intensive care
Mainland France: sharp decline in SARS-CoV-2 circulation across all regions
Overseas territories: incidence rates remain high in French Guiana and Réunion
Variants of Concern (VOC)
The Alpha variant remains the dominant strain in mainland France but is declining
Delta variant showing a significant increase with strong geographic variation
Prevention
Vaccination as of June 21:
General population: 28% fully vaccinated (48% with one dose)
Residents in nursing homes or long-term care facilities: 82% fully vaccinated
Challenges in promoting vaccination across all priority groups
Need to adhere to preventive measures and limit high-risk contacts
If symptoms develop, immediate isolation is required, and a test must be performed as soon as possible
