"We Need to Take Action on the Design of Digital Services" [interview]
The guidelines for the European Digital Services Act (DSA) lay the groundwork for enhanced protection of minors. Other measures, such as setting recommendation algorithms by default to operate without relying on user profile analysis, would help reinforce these advances. While many doubt the effectiveness of a ban on social media for children under 15 in France, several approaches are emerging, ranging from strengthening platform obligations to educating young people in digital literacy.
