Social Inequalities in Health and Community-Based Health Approaches: What Is the Connection?

For the past three years, the Renaudot Institute has been coordinating an action research project to assess the impact of community-based initiatives on three determinants of health: individual resources, the local physical and social environment, and the political and structural environment. Using several examples, the authors demonstrate how these initiatives can help reduce social inequalities in health.
