Public Health Approaches to a Safer Digital World

We cannot leave children and adolescents without safeguards when it comes to screen time. Clear public policies are needed to regulate their use. The challenge is to shift from a mindset of individual responsibility—which places the burden on families—to a collective approach that addresses the digital environment and social norms. This holistic approach, combining regulation, prevention, and education, is the way forward to protect young people without demonizing digital media.
