Making natural areas more accessible to all city residents
Environmental inequalities go hand in hand with social inequalities, as lower-income groups have fewer opportunities to interact with natural environments than their more affluent counterparts. The challenge for cities is to address the unequal distribution of urban green spaces to promote equity in health and well-being. This challenge can be met in several ways. Involving residents in these projects is an essential first step.
