Local councils: the missing link in mental health care.

A new development in the French public health landscape, local mental health councils (CLSMs) are expanding rapidly; to date, more than 130 CLSMs are operational. They bring together all stakeholders at the city level: elected officials, mental health professionals, social services, representatives of organizations and citizens, and others. CLSMs play an important role in promoting mental health. The initiatives implemented enable, in particular, early detection of mental health disorders and facilitate access to care facilities.
