Starting in March 2020, with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Dublin (Ireland) provided homeless individuals—who were at risk of developing severe forms of COVID-19—with individual housing units instead of group shelters. This initiative had two goals: to protect them from the virus and to provide them with housing while ensuring their access to healthcare and social services. Initial lessons learned from this pilot program.
