Incorporate these young people in vulnerable situations into a care pathway.

Joël Dutertre is a doctor working with a local youth outreach program in the Île-de-France region. He provides an overview of his daily work and the circumstances of the young people he sees in his practice. Here, there is little to no focus on prevention, as the situations are so urgent that immediate access to care is paramount. This is why he makes free care an absolute priority. And he takes the following approach: “Respecting the young person, even in the midst of their difficulties, and working with their own resources to bring about change—that is the key to the first interaction.”
