Improving the Nutritional Quality of the Food Supply [Interview].

The prevalence of obesity has nearly tripled in France over the past 35 years (1980–2015). However, according to the latest indicators, this trend is slowing for the first time. Serge Hercberg welcomes the adoption of a voluntary nutrition labeling system, displayed on the front of food packaging. However, he believes that more needs to be done to accelerate improvements in the nutritional quality of the food supply.
