A program to build self-esteem in children.

In the 1980s, pediatrician Jacques Fortin, in collaboration with teachers, developed the "Mieux vivre ensemble" program for preschool and elementary school students. This educational initiative aims to reduce violence by developing children’s psychosocial skills. An evaluation of this program concluded that it has proven beneficial effects: violence and aggression are decreasing, and students are developing greater self-esteem, even in the most disadvantaged classrooms. It is an educational approach that rejects social determinism and exclusion. This program continues to be implemented in several regions of France.
