A multidisciplinary network to support at-risk youth [Interview].

In Haute-Garonne, a multidisciplinary network of professionals (educators, including an ethnoclinician, a medical anthropologist, psychiatrists, and others) provides support to medical and social workers who have exhausted all their resources in dealing with adolescents facing serious difficulties. The educator thoroughly traces the entire history of the troubled youth, including by visiting the people who have cared for them from early childhood up to their current impasse. Then, in collaboration with the professionals providing care, this team develops solutions centered on the adolescent. The youth receives support and follow-up for as long as necessary. The network supports 250 young people, including about 60 new cases each year.
