Alcohol: A Contributing Factor to Sexual Violence Among Students
A 2024 survey of 67,000 students reveals the extent of sexual assault. Alcohol is a factor in 50% to 66% of cases. While it impairs some of the perpetrators’ faculties, it also makes victims prime targets. In higher education institutions, regulating alcohol consumption should be at the heart of efforts to prevent sexual violence.
