Alcohol: A Contributing Factor to Sexual Violence Among Students

A 2024 survey of 67,000 students reveals the extent of sexual assault. Alcohol is involved in 50% to 66% of cases. While it impairs the perpetrators’ judgment, it also makes victims prime targets. In higher education institutions, regulating alcohol consumption should be central to the prevention of sexual violence.
