What measures do French general practitioners consider useful for improving their vaccination practices?
Objective: In France, vaccination coverage remains suboptimal for certain vaccines. The objective was to identify measures that general practitioners (GPs) perceive as useful for improving their daily vaccination practices. Methods: In 2014, a cross-sectional questionnaire-based survey on vaccination was conducted among a representative national sample of 1,582 French GPs. Results: The vast majority of GPs considered public information campaigns on vaccines to be useful (81%), as well as fact sheets on the benefits and risks of each vaccine developed for their use (79%) or for their patients’ use (78%). A majority (61%) would agree to delegate the independent administration of vaccines to a nurse. Conclusion: These data support some of the proposals made in recent national reports (2012–2017 Vaccination Policy Improvement Program, Hurel Report, Citizen Consultation Report).
