2000 Vaccination Schedule

The vaccination schedule is developed by the Technical Committee on Vaccinations (CTV), a standing working group of the Communicable Diseases Section of the French High Council for Public Health (CSHPF), which brings together experts from various disciplines (infectious diseases, pediatrics, microbiology, immunology, epidemiology, health economics, etc.), in accordance with the decree of November 12, 1997. Generally speaking, changes to the vaccination schedule result from shifts in disease epidemiology, updates to recommendations based on current knowledge regarding vaccine efficacy, recommendations issued in other countries, and the introduction of new vaccines onto the market. Furthermore, they take into account the WHO’s general guidelines regarding the elimination of certain diseases, particularly the goal of eradicating polio worldwide and eliminating measles in Europe. The 2000 vaccination schedule introduces new recommendations concerning influenza vaccination. (R.A.)
