Evaluation of the effectiveness of email-based smoking cessation coaching: protocol and preliminary results.
Smoking cessation support is a major public health issue. Remote support (via telephone or the internet) is one of the strategies that have proven effective in this area. In 2005, the National Institute for Prevention and Health Education (INPES) developed a personalized smoking cessation program via email, the "coaching" service offered on its website: www.tabac-info-service.fr. A study was launched in 2010 to measure the effectiveness of this tool, in the form of a randomized controlled trial. [poster excerpt]
