Key Points

  • In Week 01 (December 30, 2024, to January 5, 2025), activity at SOS Médecins clinics increased compared to the previous week among adults (+16%, or +10,150 visits), particularly among those over 75, and decreased among children.

  • The rise in seasonal respiratory indicators continues among adults: influenza/flu-like illness (+31%, or 3,656 cases), pneumonia (+33%, or 585 cases), asthma attacks (+20%, or +218 cases), upper respiratory tract conditions (+10%, or +1,653 cases), and acute bronchitis (+14%, or +754 cases).

  • Among children under 2 years of age, the number of cases of bronchiolitis has been decreasing for the third consecutive week (-26%, or -134 cases).

  • Among other indicators, there was an increase in cases of chickenpox among children (+10%, or +32 cases), an increase in cases of trauma among those aged 2–74 (+24%, or +305 cases), an increase in cases of acute gastroenteritis among those aged 15–74 (+14%, or +389 cases), vomiting (+45%, or +87 cases), and conjunctivitis (+26%, or +132 cases); and among adults, an increase in cases of urinary tract infection (+15%, or +225 cases), low back pain (+13%, or +267 cases), and depression (+22%, or +30 cases).
