Key Points

In Week 07 (February 12–18, 2024), emergency department visits were down among 2- to 14-year-olds and stable in other age groups. Hospitalizations following emergency department visits were stable across all age groups.

All indicators are stable or declining, particularly seasonal respiratory indicators, which continue to decline across all age groups:

  • Influenza/flu-like illness (-27%, or -2,721 visits) for the second consecutive week.

  • Suspected COVID-19 (-28%, or 233 fewer visits).

  • Acute bronchitis (-9% among adults, or -194 visits, and stabilization among children).

  • Pneumonia, whether in terms of visits or hospitalizations following a visit (-10%, or 936 fewer visits); however, as with acute bronchitis, figures remain higher than in previous years.
