• Nationally, the number of deaths from all causes decreased slightly in weeks 52-2021 and 01-2022, but has remained significantly higher than the expected number of deaths since week 47.

• Excess deaths were observed in 9 metropolitan regions in week 52 of 2021 and in 6 regions in week 01 of 2022 (unconsolidated week).

• A marked increase in deaths was noted in Réunion during the first two weeks of 2022, also observed through electronic death certification.
